Global Village & Youth to Business day @IC & a city trip through Hyderabad!

International Congress 2010 in India and Hyderabad

Global Village, 23.08

150 Rs!!!

Youth to Business Day IC 2010, 26.08

Accomodation change!

Finally moved over to Aartis place. She is 20 years old and in AIESEC engaged. She has an older sister and 2 dogs. Happily they got used to me pretty fast! :D

Now I am living in a really nice small house in the same colony where Hari is living.

I have been out to the AIESEC office for a short trip and met some people I already known from the Mystique India night again! So nice!

Then we catched up with some friends of Aarti who have been really nice. I got out a relaxed evening tomorrow with some games and an invitation to a birthday pool party!

So, that it is quickly for today.

Getting used to lazy Hyderabad!

Finally I got my accomodation for the next 2 days:D
I am staiing at Haris place so far. :D
Yesterday, after relaxing a bit we were goingout to the venue in a sports bar.
We had some drinks, snacks and a really nice talk.
Then Hari found out that this night an AIESEC event was going on. So we jumped into the car and drove to the botanic gardens.
There we attendet the Mystique India night for the trainees from Hyderabad.
The location wasjust awesome: tents, flowers and a little waterfall. We had traditionall indian musik (Trommeln) as welcome combined with dancing. Before entering the tent we got "marked"and got a flower neclace. Everything was just so nice.
After a typical welcome drink the party started and the best surprise was the food they had prepared for us! Just awesome!
We met some other germans, polish, chinese, taiwan ....people and hada lot of fun together.
Today, after a really good sleep and a nice breakfast I cooked with Haris mom a typical indian lunch. Totally diffrent from german cooking.
Then Hari and I went to pick up a friend to go to the city. I bought earrings for less then a euro and they are actually pretty beautiful!
I had some fresh coconut water directly out of the coconut! Yammi :D
Thats my day so far.
XOXO

1st day in Hyderabad

Finally!!! After more then 24 hours we arrived in Hyerabad! But lets come to the details:
We started in Goa, Anjuna, after a last really nice breakfast there to head down to Panjim @9:30.
In Panjim we took the Bus @ 10:30. The Bus...mhm...how to descripe. Bumpy defenetly and shaky...and poeple who came late has to stand all the time during the drive on the highway. But the best during the 3 1/2 hours bus trip actually has been the stop directly on the only lane at the highway because the busdriver wanted to by some yasmine for the Ganesha figure in the bus from a street-seller. :D
Sometime around 2pm we arrived in Londa. Our indian Family in Goa told us a "major city". Ok, if a major city meens one street and at railway station :D
So we spended 3 hours of waiting in the middle of nowhere to catch our train to Hyderabad.
5pm, our train arrives in Londa. 2nd AC sleeper again. We have been lucky again and got a cabine for 2 people.
The cabine was really nice, nicer then in the train before. We got an mirrow, a little table and blankets. The only bad thing was that the train shaked a lot. More than a lot. I do not know if the word exist but since this train ride I know that next to seasickness there is trainsickness aswell!
After a bumpy night we arrived finally this morning in Hyderabad at 10:30.
Our pick-up did not worked directly...India what else.
But we reached Hari, the indian student Martin has been hosting last November, and his dad picked us up.
We hjad some coocked lunch from his mom and now we are relaxin at his place and I am waiting to get finally my accomodation at an indian AIESECers place.
I need to relax...I am so exhausted!

Last day in Goa

Last day in Goa, time passes to quickly...but I really enjoyed my last day in Goa!
We discovered Baga, the nicest corner of Goa with really nice bars, restaurants, clubs and so on. You will understand when you get to see some pictures! I hope I can upload some during my time in Hyderabad.

Today we chilled out a lot to prepare ourselves for the long bus/train journey tomorrow! 21 hours without waiting time in between! Wish me luck!

So, we need to get packed soon, before we will be too tired!

XOXO

Goa - I like^^

The last 2 days we experienced the whole cost of Goa.

We started in Anjuna where our hostel is located to head to the south:

Madgaon, Colva, Mobor (the most beautiful beach in Goa), Cabo da Rama (the most unspectacular Fort in Goa) , Agonda and Palolem (really disappointing, dirty, annoying sellers...)

The next day we started to discover the north from Goa:

Vagator, Morjim Beach, Siolim, Chopdem, Mandrem, ..... and Querim.

All in all really beautiful beaches, but I totally would prefer the southern beaches, especially Mobor. There are only luxury beach resorts and so the beach is empty, clean and nearly no annoying sellers!!!

We actually managed to drive the whole cost of Goa in 2 days with a 50 ccm scooter! :D
Tough but really really nice experience!

Fact is: Goa - I like!!!

Scootering through Goa

This morning me finally rented our scooter. It is a really nice one: pretty new and fast.
We started to go more south. We stopped first at Calangute Beach which is the holiday paradise for the indians. A huge beach with million of little shops who ware selling just everything :D

Afterwards we just kept going: Fort Aguada, Panjim and Old Goa.

Panjim is the capitol city of Goa but actually not the best part of it. I have not yet decided which part will be my fave one.

In Old Goa we actually really found the only restaurant (with good food) :D
We had the chance to get to see the next world heritage on our tour. Some cathedrals and a little tower.
Very nice ^^

Then we started our way back home over the highway.

Just tasted some indian selfmade food from the independance day (which is celebrated today in India) from our house mom. Tasty :D

Triing to book our flights to Delhi, already booked our bus/train trip to Hyderabad. Just 21 hours to go...^^

Btw. passed my math exam (statistik) woth a 3.0

Fall asleep in Mumbai and wakin up in Goa

Yesterday we spended our last day in Mumbai with shoping :D Nice :D

We started in the Phoenyx Mall, where the "richer" people going to shop. And guess what? I bought earrings and a hand bag:D Sooo beautiful. And the best of al is that I actially found flip flops in the R City Mall!!! And that with my over-over-size feet^^

In the evening we finnally got to meet Christian for some drinks and a snack at Modegar Cafe in Colaba. Really really nice food :) And it was actually really cool to get so0me more first hand information about Mumbai :D

@Andy und Mone: Ganz liebe Gruesse!!!

At 11:05 PM we catches the Express train to Goa. The sleeping air conditioned part of the train was actually better then expected and all in all we have had a good trip to Goa.

Now wer are straing in a small hostel which is held by an indian family in a nice litte hut :D
Today we experiemced Anjuna, a north part of Goa. Tommorw we are going to rent a scooter to drive to the more southern beaches. Looking forward!

XOXO
Linda

PS: Quote of the day: "Excuse me Madame, do you come to see my shop, ok please?"

Gettin kind of out of the city!

This morning, after an awesome indien breakfast (naan and some spicy stuff) we got off with our driver to the Sanjay Gandhi Nationalpark. After a long drive we arrived in a beautifull nature with crazy wild monkeys :D We climbed the montain to get to discover the Kanheri Caves. They are actually just awesome with waterfalls and and and....smaseh the first pair of flip flops in India...shit...

Aftterwards we needed a break ad stopped by a little indian restaurant to taste some more of the deliciouse indian food :D

Later on we checked out the Juhu Beach. Sadly one of the dirtiest beaches I've ever seen. But still Juhu is supposed to be the place for the rich people here.

Finally I got the first chance to have a look n a maket in Bandra. Because of my broken Flip Flops I was looking out for some and guess what...I found the Flip Flop paradise...like one shop next to another and when I thought I reached the end Martin told me to have a look behind the corner! Awesome!!! Girls...you woul have fallen in Love!!!
Sadly they did not have the shoes I liked in my size, because 40 is like over-over-size here India :D

But still a fantastic day!!!2morrow we will check out some malls and meet Christian for a snack and a drink before we will leave Mumbai with the nighttrain for Goa!

XOXO

Rocking Mumbai!

Finally after a really long flight with the Lufthansa we arrived at the airport Mumbai! Man....it is a village this airport!!! Yo can get sooo lost! Anyways, we got picked up from Vanka, Christians driver who is taking care of us till friday. Sooo nice:)

After a short night we started this morning to discover Mumbai. Gateway of India - Taj Palace - a stroll at Marine Drive to Chowpatti Beach - Malabar Hills - buying the t-shirt of Hard Rock Cafe Mumbai and buying tickets to Goa in the world heritage train station Victoria Terminus.

After all quite similar to Bangkok, but still very exciting - very much looking forward to discover Mumbais suburbs and Sanjay Gandhi national park tomorrow.

Gummybears work to bribe everybody :)

Feeling like a celebrity just by being a tourist feels strange. Still need to get used to being fotographed, filmed and starred at constantly ;)

Martin directly cut his foot today...shit:( But he will survive :)

BTW Indian keyboards suck!!!

And my favorite quote for today: indian style aircondition- wanna buy, wanna buy!!!
